ADDENDUM RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS AIR FORCE BOARD FOR CORRECTION OF MILITARY RECORDS IN THE MATTER OF: DOCKET NUMBER: BC-2012-03025 COUNSEL: NONE HEARING DESIRED: NO ________________________________________________________________ _ APPLICANT REQUESTS THAT: His Fitness Assessment (FA) dated 1 Feb 12 be removed from the Air Force Fitness Management System (AFFMS). ________________________________________________________________ _ RESUME OF CASE: On 15 Feb 13, the Board for Corrections of Military Records (BCMR) considered and denied the applicant’s request to remove his FA test, dated 1 Feb 12, from his records. For an accounting of the facts and circumstances surrounding the applicant’s request; and, the rationale of the earlier decision by the Board, see the Record of Proceedings (ROP) at Exhibit E (with Exhibits A and E). Refer to the Statement of Facts in the original ROP for the applicant’s military history and medical issue at Exhibit F. By letter, dated 1 Mar 13 (received on 7 Aug 13), he submits a request for reconsideration stating that he provides AF Form 108, Physical Fitness Education and Intervention Processing, signed by the medical provider on 14 Jun 13 and indorsed by his unit commander on 17 Jun 13, noting the member would have qualified for an abdominal circumference exemption since he is less than the minimum acceptable of 39” and failed only because of temporary orthopedic conditions. His complete submission, with attachments, is at Exhibit F. ________________________________________________________________ _ THE BOARD CONCLUDES THAT: 1. The applicant has exhausted all remedies provided by existing law or regulations. 2. The application was timely filed. 3. Sufficient relevant evidence has been presented to demonstrate the existence of error or injustice warranting partial relief. Based on the medical documentation submitted in support of his appeal, his records should be corrected to reflect he was exempt him from the abdominal circumference portion of the FA test in question. We took note of the applicant’s request to have the entire FA removed; however, we believe our recommended relief provides the applicant proper and fitting relief. We note that as a result of our proposed corrective action, the applicant’s composite score will result in an overall composite score of 100 and a fitness level rating of “EXCELLENT.” Therefore, we recommend the applicant’s record be corrected as indicated below. ________________________________________________________________ THE BOARD RECOMMENDS THAT: The pertinent military records of the Department of the Air Force relating to APPLICANT be corrected to show that the Fitness Assessment, dated 1 February 2012, be amended in the Air Force Fitness Management System (AFFMS) to reflect that he was “exempt” from the abdominal circumference component. ________________________________________________________________ _ The following members of the Board considered AFBCMR Docket Number BC-2012-03025 in Executive Session on 1 May 14, under the provisions of AFI 36-2603: , Panel Chair , Member , Member All members voted to correct the records, as recommended.
